Anti RNA Polymerase III may be useful in the investigation of Systemic Sclerosis and may indicate a hightened risk of renal involvement.

Systemic Sclerosis is a rare autoimmune disorder characterised by the presence of various auto antibodies including anti centromere, anti topoisomerase (Scl70) anti PM/Scl-100 and anti RNA Polymerase III ( RNA Pol III ).

The St Vincents assay is performed when they have enough to make a batch which is usually fortnightly.
