ADAMTS-13 Activity Assay

Ordering information:

Note:Assay is performed as a routine ; urgent testing can be arranged.

This test is not covered by Medicare. For outpatient testing requested by Clinical Haematology, the associated costs are to be billed to the Clinical Haematology department. The non-rebatable form must accompany the request form.

CSR staff are required to liaise with the Haematopathology team with each request for approval.

Storage Instructions:

Centrifuge Sodium Citrate sample ; aliquot a minimum of 0.5 ml of citrated plasma into an appropriate transport tube and freeze at -20 deg C. Processing should be complete within 2 hours of collection.

Frozen specimen is stable and can be sent on the next scheduled courier run ( UNLESS MARKED URGENT - if so send immediately ) 

Aliquot is to be sent to the referral laboratory in a frozen state.
