Thyroid Stimulating hormone (TSH) 0.27 - 4.20 mU/L
Free Thyroxine (FT4) 12 - 22.0 pmol/L
Free Tri-iodothyronine (FT3) 3.1 - 6.8 pmol/L

Storage Instructions:

TSH is performed. Free T4 is performed only if indicated by clinical details or the TSH result

Free T3 is performed where appropriate.

Clinical comments are essential - record of therapy with thyroxine or anti-thyroid drugs, suspicion of pituitary disease, drug therapy with amiodarone, lithium, phenytoin, etc., which will permit additional tests as required.
