Products of conception that require cytogenetic analysis must be submitted fresh.
Fresh tissue must be refrigerated out of ours - however it is not neccessary to contact the on call pathologist for POC specimens.
Send fresh specimen in RPMI to VCGS for Cytogenetics with the regular courier.
