Lymph node biopsies performed for possible infectious diseases or lymphoproliferative disorders must be submitted to the Anatomical Pathology laboratory fresh. Please order the approriate tests required in ehCare.

Storage Instructions:

Microbiological cultures and flow cytometric analysis requires fresh tissue.

Specimens solely for flow cytometry can be placed in RPMI.

Laboratory Notes:

All fresh tissue must be brought to the attention of a Pathologist or pathology registrar. Out of hours fresh tissue specimens must be brought to the attention of the on call pathologist. Fresh tissue must be refrigerated.
