This test is usually ordered as a blood group and antibody screen (refer to Blood Group and Antibody screen). When ordering as part of a routine antenatal workup, please clearly indicate that patient is pregnant and gestation.
Please ensure that an A4 "Request for Blood Products" form is used.

All GPH request must be registered as BBANK in Evolution when it arrives in the laboratory. It is the duty of the blood bank staff to ensure that the zero tolerance policy is met before changing the code to GPH.
If NIPA required, please clearly indicate. NIPA tests require 3 x 6ml EDTA and should only be collected Monday to Wednesday by 10am. |
