This test should only be requested once the patient has been shown to be positive for Hepatitis B Surface Antigen.

Do not send heparinised blood.  Please note that Hepatitis D PCR can only be performed on a sample tube which has NOT been used for other testing.  For this reason, this test cannot be added to previously collected samples.
