This test may be useful for monitoring patients whose PT is inconsistent with the prescribed warfarin dose, particularly when failure to comply or surreptitious drug use is suspected.
Note: This test is not designed for evaluation of the patient with prolonged bleeding time suspected of exposure to rat poisons in that the assay is not designed to detect superwarfarins ( the result will likely be negative in this case - which in itself may only suggest superwarfarin ingestion as opposed to Warfarin ).
