Karyotype/Microarray - TISSUE

Ordering information:

Cerner Orderable: Histology Specimen. Microarray-Molecular karyotype

Fresh Tissue - send to Pathology for send out.

Referred test to Monash Pathology see: https://handbook.monashpathology.org/index?testid=1071

Specimen Types:  

Products of conception with fetal parts - fetal tissue or villi

Products of conception no fetal tissue - villi or cord

Placenta - villi or umbilical cord (5cm)

Skin biopsy: Collect aseptically. Collect x2 skin punches from  patient

Use RPMI (obtain from Pathology) or saline for transport. Do not allow the sample to dry out.

Send to direct to Anatomical Pathology.  Anatomical Pathology willl send the sample to Monash Pathology for testing.
