Functional Pathology refers to a group of tests used to investigate functional, biochemical, nutritional, metabolic and hormonal status. It is generally requested by a medical practitioner to assist patients with holistic healthcare. This type of testing is done by specialised labs such as Healthscope Functional Pathology.(https://www.healthscopepathology.com.au/index.php/functional-pathology/)
Patients should be directed to a Healthscope Collection facility to ensure that the correct specimens are collected and stored/transported as required.
DO NOT collect samples from patients with requests for Functional Pathology, even if it is on an Eastern Health request form.

Instead, ask the patient to find the most convenient Healthscope collection facility.
If EMR is not available, Pathology results are available from Auscare. If you do not have an Auscare login, please complete attached form. https://pathology.easternhealth.org.au/handbook/downloads/Auscare%20access.pdf
