Renal Transplant Donor - Screening Tests

Ordering information:

Renal Transplant Donors will be screened for the following tests (please note that the individual tests must be written on the request form).  Please contact Pathology to arrange an appointment for Phase 1 collections, as the patient will need to fast overnight.

PHASE 1 - INITIAL TESTING

  • Blood Group
  • U&E, LFT, CaPO4, Urate
  • FBE, ESR
  • Clotting
  • Triglycerides/Cholesterol
  • GTT
  • HBsAg, HBcAb, HBsAb
  • HepC
  • CMV IgG, IgM
  • EBV IgG, IgM
  • HIV
  • HTLV1
  • Syphilis
  • VZV
  • HSV
  • MSU
  • 24 hr Creat clearance & protein
  • 24hr microalbumin

 

PHASE 2 : CONFIRMATION TESTING

 

  • U&E, LFT, CaPO4, Urate
  • MSU
  • 24 hr creat clearance & protein
  • 24 hr microalbumin
  • PSA (if male >50 yo)
  • HLA Tissue Typing/Cross Match

For this testing, the follwing is required :

PHASE 1

3 x Serum (white top)

1 x EDTA (pink)

1 x EDTA (purple)

1 x ESR tube

1 x Citrate (light blue)

3 x Fluoride Oxalate (grey) - as per GTT

1 x spot urine

1 x 24 hr urine collection

PHASE 2

2 x serum (white)

3 x ACD (yellow)

1 x spot urine

1 x 24 hr urine collection
