Anaerobic cultures are performed on all blood cultures, wound swabs, fluids and tissue specimens.

If required on other specimens please add to the special instructions field in ehcare.

Where anaerobic organisms are suspected as causative agent - send immediately to Microbiology Laboratory for culture.
