Alpha-1 Antitrypsin - phenotyping

Ordering information:

Phenotyping is only indicated when the total alpha 1 anti-trypsin is low.

“Alpha-1- antitrypsin phenotype will be performed when Alpha-1- antitrypsin genotype is requested, as these have excellent correlation. If genotype is the preferred test, please contact the Chemical Pathologist.”

As of 03/04/2025 -If  A1AT genotyping is approved it will go to Royal Brisbane and Womens Hospital QLD.  Genotype is not medicare rebateable.  Test cost is $65.00.  Genotyping requires EDTA and SST.
