Investigation of cold agglutinin specificity, thermal range and titre by consultation with laboratory Haematopathologist.

Collection Instructions:

Collect a Hot Box with 2x pre-heated, 6 mL EDTA tube from Pathology Specimen Reception. Sample collection must occur within 10min. Once samples are collected, transport to the laboratory immediately.

Cold specimens may give erroneous results.

Cold Agglutinin Screen Report will indicate whether cold agglutinins are present.

Cold Agglutinin Titre Report will indicate thermal amplitude and titre strength.
