24 hour urine, acid contain bottle, a 50 ml aliquot is referred out along with the recorded total 24 hrs volume and pH level.
Extra 50 mL aliquot need to be stored.

Falsely elevated results may occur after ingestion of phenothiazines or serotonin-containing foods such as bananas, pineapples, red plums, walnuts, avocados, eggplant or tomatoes.Walnuts,pineapple,red plums,avocado,eggplant,tomatoes and Bananas are said to increase the excretion of HIAA and should be avoided for 24 hours prior to collectionof urine sample.
