May be indicated in chronic diarrhoeal states to investigate the possibility of VIPoma

VIP test is performed on a fasting sample (overnight fasting). Patient must be resting for at least 10 minutes before the blood is collected.

4 mL whole blood EDTA (containing Trasylol [aprotinin]). PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS A SPECIAL COLLECTION TUBE AVAILABLE ONLY FROM THE PATHOLOGY DEPARTMENT. Transport  tube on ice, deliver to laboratory immediately for separation.
