2-8 deg required if transport delayed > 30 mins
Notes:

TB culture must be specifically requested

Three consecutive early morning specimens are required for TB

Sputum should be expectorated into a specimen container

Saliva is unsuitable.

The transit of specimen from Angliss or Maroondah lab and out of working hour collection may cause the prolonged turnaround time
