BCR-abl Genetic Testing

Ordering information:

BCR-abl testing  must be peformed within 48 hrs of collection (best within 24 hrs.) but is not routinely processed by the referral laboratory on the weekends.

Samples need to be at Peter MacCallum pathology before 1500. (Mon-Fri only) .

Samples need to be at Box Hill laboratory by 11 am on Fridays.

Collection Instructions:

PLEASE NOTE THIS TEST REQUIRES 20-30ml OF BLOOD.  ACCORDINGLY, PLEASE COLLECT 3-4 OF THE LARGE EDTA TUBES.

Samples need to be at Peter MacCallum pathology before 1500. (Mon-Fri only) .

Stored at Room Temperature.

BCR ABL Mutation Analysis - Must only be collected in the AM on MON,TUES and WED only.

15 ml EDTA blood required.

Sample must reach Adelaide within 24-36 hrs of collection
