Storage Instructions:

Light Chain detection - The presence of free and intact monoclonal light chains is assessed by immunofixation after electrophoresis or isoelectric focusing or serum free light chains may be measured by immunoassay.

Light Chain typing - The heavy and light chain classes are determined when a new monolconal protein (paraprotein) has been detected in a previously undiagnosed patient.
