CMV Viral Load will be performed on Transplant and Oncology patients.
A dedicated 1 x 4mL EDTA blood tube is required.
Transport to the laboratory at room temperature.
Please note that CMV Viral Load can only be performed on a sample tube which has NOT been used for other testing. For this reason, this test cannot be added to previously collected samples.
This is a quantitative test for the detection of Cytomegalovirus in blood by PCR.
